The rental deposit, explained
The deposit protects the agency against damage and unpaid fines. It isn't a payment — it's an amount held on your card, then released if the car comes back in good order.
A hold, not a charge
At pickup the agency blocks an amount on your bank card without taking it. The money is unavailable during the rental, then released — how long it takes to show back on your account depends on your bank, usually a few days.
How much
Roughly 3,000 to 10,000 DH depending on the car's value and the trip length. The exact figure is on the listing and shown again before you pay — nothing sprung on you at the counter.
Lowering the deposit
On Yevero, drivers who verify their identity and string together trips with no incidents see their deposit fall, sometimes to zero. It's your track record talking, not a paid add-on.
If there's damage
The photos taken at handover and return are the reference. New, documented damage can be held from the deposit, with the detail to back it. No damage, and the full amount is released.
