What documents do you need to rent a car in Morocco?
Car rental in Morocco is open to residents and foreign visitors. The paperwork is short, but the agency checks the originals at pickup — bring them with you.
Driving licence
A licence held for at least one year. A Moroccan, French, or any licence written in the Latin alphabet is accepted as is. If yours uses another script (Arabic, Cyrillic, Mandarin…), add an International Driving Permit — it doesn't replace your national licence, it translates it.
ID document
National ID card for residents, a valid passport for foreign visitors. The agency keeps a copy for the duration of the rental.
Minimum age
Usually 21, sometimes 23 or 25 for luxury and 4x4 categories, with at least one year of licence. Some agencies add a young-driver surcharge under 25 — it's shown on the listing before you book.
Bank card
A card in the main driver's name for the deposit hold. You pay for the rental online on Yevero; the deposit is a pre-authorisation that's blocked and then released on return — never an actual charge.
